Leo Middea

Leo Middea, geboren am 27. April 1995 in Rio de Janeiro, gilt als eine der aktuellen Hoffnungen der MPB (Música Popular Brasileira).

Leo Middea comes from the suburbs of Rio de Janeiro, and now lives in Lisbon. Besides bossa nova and samba, his work also catches influences from jazz and funk. His music gets over a million streams on streaming platforms and he feels comfortable performing for thousands of spectators. Who sees him on stage is immediately surprised by the energy and incessant presence from beginning to end.
With the first album in hand "Dois" (2014), Leo at the age of 18, began his musical journey and ended up in Buenos Aires performing about 23 shows around Argentina in the year 2015. Already with his second album "A Dança do Mundo" (2016) was present in several selections of best albums of the year and got positive reviews by the Brazilian and Portuguese press. The impossibility never took over the carioca, "Vicentina" (2020) arrives with production by Paulo Novaes, arrangements by Polivalente and participation by the singer Janeiro. The project managed to get off the paper after Leo went around the streets asking for 1 euro per person to raise the money needed for the recording - which also became a mini doc that can be seen on Youtube. The record reached one million plays on Spotify in just nine months. Between his successful "balcony seasons" during the pandemic, sold outs in London, Amsterdam, Rio, Lisbon... and almost 8 million streams only on the Spotify digital platform, Leo Middea keeps on spinning in the world in search of new encounters and connecting with each audience that watches him.
