Chris Ingram

scottish poet / Edinburgh

Chris Ingram is a Scottish poet and singer song writer from Edinburgh living in Wrexham Wales and doing a tour THE ROAD TO BULGARIA.

He performs in punk, folk and hip-hop styles riffing on ideas about social injustice to the contents of ultra processed fast food meals. Telling stories about fishermen and shepherds, singing acapellas about the sinking of the Titanic and jamming improvised songs about bee keeping. He performs in several collectives notably Trandoshan Hunters where he works closely with Andy Duncan (Miracle Glass Company and Duke Duncan and the Hurricanes) and Richard Geraghty (The Glendale Family and Green Grass Candidates).

He has had Arts Council of Wales funding to support his creative practice including theatre and touring, worked with Dirty Protest Theater on IETM and been supported by Tom Robinson at BBC INTRODUCING, BBC 6 MUSIC and BBC CYMRU 2.

Ingram and Co. create an intriguing mix of psychedelic, poetry driven folk-hop, inspired by the likes of Beta Band and Arab Strap. Each track mixes scathing social and political commentary with 1990s references like Space Invaders and White Lightning; at times it sounds like the soundtrack for Trainspotting 3.
