Emerging from the high desert of Mitzpe Ramon - Israel’s remotest town - Taftir is an instrumental project shaped by isolation and a fascination with the bizarre.The band’s multi-layered sound is born from a constant dialogue between the traditional and the experimental and draws on modern psychedelia, hypnotic Eastern modals, african desert rhythms and dance-driven rock’n’roll energy - infused by the town’s strange atmosphere and its vast distance from any sort of paved consciousness.
